Acnomel Acne Medicine

Acnomel acne medicine is strong acne medication that mostly consists of sulfur and resorcinol as its main active ingredients.  This is strong acne medicine that helps to eliminate pimples and acne, as well as have a preventive influence to help keep more from forming.  The percentage of each active product in Acnomel acne medicine is usually around the area of 2% for resorcinol and 8% for sulfur, and it is a powerful medication that has often proven its effectiveness.

This medicine is available without a prescription, but you need to keep in mind that this is still a powerful medication and you need to carefully follow any specific orders your doctor gives you regarding how to use it.  Acnomel acne medicine comes in several different forms, including: cake, cream, lotion, and stick.  All of these are topical treatments, and the cream is by far and away the most common of all these, and is the most likely form for you to pick up.

As with all strong medicines or medications, it is always important to follow the instructions to the word.  Some of the most important factors to look at before using this medicine are: 
• Allergies—Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to resorcinol or sulfur, or any other substances, such as preservatives or dyes.
• Children—Resorcinol can be absorbed through the skin and should not be used on large areas of the body on infants or children. In addition, resorcinol should not be used on wounds, since doing so may cause a blood disease called methemoglobinemia.
• Other medicines—Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in some cases two different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary.
Because of the strength, use this medicine only as directed.  The active ingredients are effective in fighting acne, but can have strong negative side effects if too much is used.  
Before usage preparation includes washing affected areas thoroughly, and then gently pat dry.  Apply a small amount to the affected areas and spread, but do not rub it in. After this, wash your hands immediately and remove any of the medicine that is one them.  Keep away from your eyes, and if some manages to get in, flush them thoroughly and see a doctor if burning continues.

Never double dose with this medicine.  Severe side effects can occur.  While using Acnomel acne medicine be sure to avoid abrasive soaps or cleaners, medicine and/or cleaner containing alcohol, cosmetics that dry the skin, medicated cosmetics, or other topical medicines for the skin.  This is not the kind of medicine you use as part of a “cocktail method.” Side effects to watch out for include skin irritation, diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, severe headache, slow heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweating, or unusual weakness.  If you experience any of these symptoms, though rare, stop taking the treatment and see a doctor.  These things are not to be taken lightly.
